The whole world is facing the Corona Virus Pandemic , and there are unsung heroes who are working very hard for the survival of humanity , one of them is the Small retailers , Milk , Vegetable Fruit vendors , Doctors etc .
We hereby make a small request to our Government of India with respect to GST and its Compliance for Essential Commodity Supplier heroes .
Some state governments are opting for Zomato , Swiggy Delivery options to supply the goods of essential nature from our local vendors to the public at large , as per CGST Act 2017 , there is a Mandatory Registration Under GST for such suppliers #GST
Section 24 of CGST Act 2017 says the following
Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1) of section 22, the following categories of persons shall be required to be registered under this Act,––
(ix) persons who supply goods or services or both, other than supplies specified under sub-section (5) of section 9, through such electronic commerce operator ( Example : Swiggy , Zomato ) who is required to collect tax at source under section 52.
The real call is the burden of the heroes should be eliminated , we request Mandatory GST should be exempted to the categories of person falling under Essential Commodity supplier listed on E- Commerce Platform and using their delivery services during this pandemic, if they are below the threshold limit.
This will reduce the burden of compliance , the non-blocking of Tax at source and more easiness of business during and after this pandemic.
There are also more unsung heroes , who are working very hard to get rid of this pandemic , i request for next lock down period , we think about them while they are working for us , The India. OurGreatIndia We seek every viewer/reader to support the cause .
